BOXIr2 Version Numbers

UPDATED: 2 june 2009

I never remember the version numbers for the different patch levels. This post will help me in the future!

To determine the exact version of your installation: Open Central Configuration Manager (CCM) and choose About BusinessObjects Enterprise. In the following dialog box you will see the Product Version.

  • 11.5.0.313 --> RTM
  • 11.5.3.417 --> SP1
  • 11.5.7.608 --> MHF1
  • 11.5.7.682 --> CHF13
  • 11.5.7.723 --> CHF14
  • 11.5.7.770 --> CHF15
  • 11.5.7.811 --> CHF16
  • 11.5.7.852 --> CHF17
  • 11.5.7.1048 --> CHF20
  • 11.5.8.826 --> SP2
  • 11.5.8.826 --> FP2.1
  • 11.5.8.939 --> FP2.2
  • 11.5.8.963 --> FP2.3
  • 11.5.8.998 --> FP2.4
  • 11.5.8.1030 --> FP2.5
  • 11.5.8.1061 --> FP2.6
  • 11.5.8.1111 --> FP2.7
  • 11.5.9.1076 --> SP3
  • 11.5.9.1101 --> FP3.1
  • 11.5.9.1138 --> FP3.2
  • 11.5.9.1202 --> FP3.4
  • 11.5.9.1227 --> FP3.5
  • 11.5.10.1263 --> SP4
  • 11.5.11.1470 --> SP5

This list is only valid for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 (BOE XI R2).
MHF = Monthly Hot Fix.
CHF = Critical Hot Fix.
SP = Service Pack.
FP = Fix Pack.
RTM = Release To Market (first release, without any patches).

Does anyone have the numbers for the patches missing in my list?

Very useful article. I've got 11.5.8.825 on solaris and 11.5.8.8265 on windows server. Any ideas how I can find the relevant patch level? Cheers.

As far as I know the version numbers for Unix and Windows should be the same. I don't know where you got these numbers from in your system. The 825 in the end points at a Service Pack 2 level but I have never seen 825 anywhere. But I work only with Windows environments, this could be common on Unix versions.

For Unix you could try to look in the file ProductID.txt in the setup folder under the installation folder.

Perhaps there is another number there?

In the Windows environment you are on Service Pack 2. The last digit (5) is not of importance. If you look in the logging folder under your installation folder and in the file SP2Install_0.log (BOE RTM+SP2) or BOEInstall_1.log (BOE SP2) and search for ProductVersion, you will discover a line similar to Property(S): ProductVersion = 11.5.8.8265. There you have it. If you look at the Version Information in Central Configuration Manager it says 11.5.8.826. The last digit have been removed.

Hope this helps.

Hi, very useful summary. We have version 11.5.9.1202 which i'm guessing is BOXIr2 Fixpack 3.3. Do you know if this is correct?

Oakleaf said...

I think version 11.5.9.1202 means Fix Pack 3.4 but I am not 100% sure, only 95%...

As Business Objects don't have any official lists for version numbers it's difficult to obtain each and every number available without installing them.

Thanks Oakleaf.

It shouldn't be too difficult for BO to list the version numbers for each product/server in the Release notes of each CHF/FP etc.

Not holding my breath though :-)

SP5 should be: 11.5.11.1470

Thanks for posting the version numbers, however I have a mystery.
The CMC settings indicate that I have 11.5.8.826, SP2.
However, I have been told that SP2 FP 2.5 has been instlled. So the CMC Should report 11.5.8.1030.
I have gone to the logging folder and sure enough, it looks like FP2.5 has installed correctly.

It's on a VMware Virtual server (Windows Server 2003)
Ho can I be sure that SP2.5 is installed correctly? Whhy the difference? .net or java??

It may not be a mystery after all. I don't know with 100 percent certainty, but the version information you see in the CMC is not all true.

In your case you definitly have FP2.5 installed if you see information under the logging folder.

If you read the readme file for fix pack 2.5 you will notice that, for instance, that CMS.exe has not changed. WIReportServer.exe and report.dll has been changed though. So look for the version number of the WIReportServer.exe file or report.dll file and it should be the version number of the FP2.5.

anyone know what the current numbering is for SP5 plus the currently available hotfixes?

Here is the version for BO XI R2 SP6:
11.5.12.1838

and here is the version for BO XI R2 FP6.4:
11.5.12.2126 (web intelligence report server only, others servers keep sp6 version)

This last FP is the final version of BO XI R2. There won't be any new FP or SP in the future as maintenance and support for this release was discountinued.
